Regina Otto
One of the most gifted cabaret vocalists in the country, Regina Otto has what Hassan Elgarrahy, General Manager of Harry Cipriani in New York has called "...an angelic voice!". Known for singing Cole Porter's original lyrics, American film noir songs of the 40s and virtually any song with a vocal difficulty factor of "10" or above, Ms. Otto (also known as "La Voice") has perfect diction, elegance and power reminiscent of Gogi Grant and Eydie Gormé. This is evident on the following three mp3 tracks backed by The David Levin Duo (piano and string bass). Ms. Otto demonstrates her amazing hold and "finish" to her phrases on the third track, the jazz ballad "Be Anything (But Be Mine)". This recording is one of the most soothing and relaxingly beautiful renditions of this oft-performed jazz hit. She has appeared with San Francisco Bay Area pianist-arranger David Levin at the famous Harry Cipriani on Fifth Avenue as well as the former Park Restaurant & Bar in The Lombardy Hotel in New York. She has also appeared at The Plush Room, The Mark Hopkins Hotel and The San Francisco Black & White Ball with The David Levin Quartet. The mp3 tracks below feature her in a typical cabaret setting--accompanied by a pianist and a bassist (no drums). To hear Ms. Otto with a 4 and 5-piece swing band, please check out her mp3 band tracks on our Small Swing Bands page, where she is featured with The David Levin Swing Jazz Band. Ms. Otto and The David Levin Duo are available in Napa, Sonoma, the San Francisco Bay Area and anywhere in the U.S.

David Levin
A protégé of swing great Johnny Guarnieri (of The Benny Goodman and The Artie Shaw Bands) and one of the top San Francisco Bay Area pianists, David Levin has evolved from a classic jazz pianist into a cabaret concert pianist. Known for performing the show tunes and movie songs of Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and others, Levin now specializes in the showcasing of entire movie scores from classic movies of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Along with his jazz styles, the compositions of the three most prolific classic movie composers--Max Steiner, Alfred Newman and Eric Wolfgang Korngold--are S.F. pianist David Levin's primary focus. The pianist at The Rainbow Room in New York, The Mark Hopkins Hotel, the famous Blue Fox and The Pacific-Union Club in San Francisco, Levin has played for heads of state, congressmen and other notables. He has appeared in the columns of the late Herb Caen and Pat Steger in the San Francisco Chronicle. He has performed at every major society event in San Francisco, and performs in Napa, Sonoma, Sacramento, Reno, Monterey and San Francisco. The mp3 tracks below feature Levin leading his small swing band, The David Levin Swing Band, and provide the listener with good examples of his classic jazz piano style.
