Most wedding bands on this page can provide a solo keyboardist for the cocktail hour as well as a DJ-soundman during the breaks. All DLE wedding entertainment provides high-quality vocals and vocal harmony. The sizes of our Bay Area wedding bands and Southern California wedding bands vary, with our 9-piece bands usually consisting of a male and two female lead vocalists up front (three female vocalists for many of our Southern California wedding bands), two horns and a 4-piece rhythm section (keyboards, bass guitar, guitar and drums). Our 6-piece groups have a 4-piece rhythm section along with a male lead vocalist and a female lead vocalist. On this page only, we've combined our Swing bands with our cover and show bands. NRG
A great wedding dance band, NRG performs all styles of music to perfection. Their special themed shows are legendary. They are exceptionally well-choreographed and features a terrific pianist/keyboardist who does the best Jerry Lee Lewis impersonation on "Great Balls Of Fire" we've ever seen. The Band's vocals are outstanding. A string trio or string quartet is part of the 13-piece and larger NRG Dance Orchestras (Their 15-piece white formal Dance Orchestra is shown here). The Zippers
The Zippers (a 7 to 12-piece) are one of the best wedding dance show bands in the U.S. They perform all styles of dance music including Top 40, Current, Motown, 80s, 90s, Disco, Funk, Classic Rock and Swing. They are available in L.A., San Diego, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, San Francisco and virtually anywhere in the United States, Canada and other countries.

Desperado
Although they don't appear to be "a tuxedo band", the 5-piece Desperado can perform in tuxedo as per the client's request. Though they are a show band and usually only perform a 2-hour show, they can stretch it to 3 hours with a set of variety dance covers for wedding receptions and will throw in a preheat set of ipod CD tracks at no charge to round out a 4-hour evening. The Band is available in Southern and Northern California and across the United States and Canada.

Starstruck
A 6 to 11-piece wedding dance band, Starstruck features three lovely and talented female vocalists and (by request) an outstanding male lead vocalist (the 8-piece). One of the more exciting show bands in California, the Band can dress formally (as seen in this photo) as per the client's request. They are available in Las Vegas, Hawaii, Southern and Northern California and throughout the U.S., Canada and other countries.

The SC Show Band
The 7 to 10-piece SC Show Band is a superb wedding dance band, performing all styles from standards to Current pop with an emphasis on Current covers. They are an audience participation band that dresses formally for weddings. The three female vocalists seen in the photo are heard singing lead vocals on the tracks below, each with their own style and unique approach to their material. The base size is the 7-piece (without horns), but horns may be added as requested. They perform throughout California, the Hawaiian Islands, anywhere in the U.S., Canada and Australia.

Liquid Blue
Liquid Blue (a 7 to 11-piece) is one of the country's top corporate dance show bands as well as a great original band. They offer superb lead vocals and vocal harmony, great choreography and sizzling costumes in their high energy show. They are a great wedding dance band, being able to perform any number of styles and periods of dance music. They feature a sensational guitarist who wears a giant Mad Hatter hat. Liquid Blue is available in San Diego, L.A., Palm Springs, S.F., Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Santa Fe and virtually anywhere in the world.

The S Band-L.A. (a 4-piece) is one of the top ten 70s and 80s tribute bands in the country and is a superb wedding dance band. They are a high energy show band that is also one of our top headliner bands. Their male lead vocalist is phenomenal as you will see in the short video clip we've provided here. One of most exciting tribute bands in the nation, Grooveline (a 4-piece) is an awesome Disco and 80s high energy band that is self-contained and dance band that will keep the guests on the dance floor. As with all very high energy bands, they play three 45-minute sets but will provide a preheat hour of CD tracks as a fourth hour. Available throughout Southern California, Northern California as well as outside of California.

Starstruck 80 (a 6 to 8-piece) is a high energy 70s and 80s Retro wedding dance band featuring three attractive and exciting female lead vocalists and a superb male lead vocalist. The JS Swing Band
A 7-piece "hot swing" band featuring a Anita O'Day-style female vocalist (who is one the top Swing band vocalists in the country), The JS Swing Band plays the Gramercy Five-style early 40s Swing better than just about any band we've heard. They're one of the best small swing bands in Southern California. They have a tight sound from their excellent pianist, Freddie Green-style guitarist, drummer and horn players. An excellent Swing only wedding dance band, they are available anywhere in Southern California.

The HS Swing Band
A 6-piece with female vocalist-bassist, The HS Swing Band is one of the top two Southern California "hot swing" bands of the early 40s. 1940s Kansas City-style Swing jazz never sounded so good! Their drummer-leader is considered to be the top trad drummer in the country (An interesting side note: He was coincidentally the first drummer in The David Levin Trio at its inception back in 1973 in Orange County, CA). The pianist heard on these tracks is considered by many to be the hottest classic jazz band pianist in the business this side of Frederick Hodges. The horns, the excellent guitarist and bassist add to their great sound. They are available anywhere in Southern California and the U.S. This band books well in advance.

The TH Band
A 9 to 10-piece, The TH Band was formed in 2002 and is one of So. California's best small swing bands. Its 5-piece reed section--4 saxes and 1 clarinet--give it a real "big band sound" compared to other small swing bands of similar size. The TH Band has some of the best Swing musicians in the U.S. A 9-piece (with no stand alone vocalists) or a 10-piece with a male or female vocalist, The TH Band is available for events in Monterey, the San Francisco Bay Area, Reno, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Diego and virtually anywhere in California and the U.S. The four mp3 tracks below feature the 9-piece (without a vocalist).

The TH Orchestra
One of Southern California's best 40s Swing big bands, The TH Orchestra (a 14-piece) is an experienced party and wedding dance band with an exceptionally gifted leader (tenor sax). As with DLE's other superb big bands, this band has a talented Harry James-style trumpeter. A female vocalist (not heard on the below tracks) is available, making this a 15-piece. The Band is available in San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, the San Francisco Bay Area, Lake Tahoe and virtually anywhere in California and the U.S.

The DLE O.C. Big Band
A 13 to 15-piece orchestra with male and female vocalist, The DLE O.C. Big Band is a Southern California big band that specializes in the late 30s, 40s as well as the 50s big band dance music. "Ballroom" styles can also be played by this band as well as continuous music on the breaks by a separate quartet. Their local area is all of Los Angeles County, Orange County and the Inland Empire. The Band is also available in Las Vegas, Santa Fe and virtually anywhere in the U.S. Track 12 features their new Sinatra-style vocalist singing to a Billy May Orchestra track.

JB and the PMs (a 6 to 10-piece) is one of the most exciting wedding dance bands we offer at DLE, providing a high energy performance in an array of formal attire and having played for hundreds of wedding receptions all over the U.S. They're one of the most reasonably priced show bands we've encountered. They perform in Chicago, Columbus, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Denver, the entire East Coast, California, Canada and the Caribbean.

A 7 to 9-piece Texas show band, FBF is, in our opinion, one the best wedding dance bands in The Longhorn State. An R and B, Soul and Disco band, they've done huge events in front of 150,000 people as well as intimate wedding receptions. They can dress in black suits and the female vocalists in formal gowns. Two female vocalists, three horns and a 4-piece rhythm section make up the 9-piece heard on the tracks below. The SB Band (a 5 to 9-piece) is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's best wedding dance bands with three superb lead vocalists and great vocal harmony. The David Levin Swing Jazz Band
with Regina Otto
One of the top Swing jazz bands in the country, The David Levin Swing Jazz Band with Regina Otto has appeared at society events like The San Francisco Black and White Ball and for Swing only wedding receptions since 1995. The Trio (piano, bass and sax/flute) was the steady group in The Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco in 1992. Ms. Otto's vocals can be heard on Tracks 2 and 4 below. The Band's sound is reminiscent of that of the mid- to late-1940s small lounge bands. The Band contracts an experienced sound company for its performances. We suggest, as we do with all our Swing only bands, that clients also hire a DJ to play the last two or three hours of the reception. This way, younger guests can be more "involved" by dancing to current dance covers that they are accustomed to hearing. The David Levin Swing Jazz Band is available in the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, Sacramento and virtually any city or getaway site in the U.S.

Rex Allen's Swing Express®
Rex Allen's Swing Express® features outstanding sidemen and has one of the most talented Swing musician-leaders in the country. Mr. Allen plays a Tommy Dorsey-style trombone, Lionel Hampton-style vibes and occasionally, drums (He can be heard playing Gen Krupa-style drums on The Rex Allen Big Band track "Sing Sing Sing" on our Big Bands page). The Rex Allen Big Band
The Rex Allen Big Band 14-piece (no stand alone vocalist), 15-piece (1 stand alone vocalist) or 16-piece (two stand alone vocalists) is an excellent Swing only big band that will please our 40s commercial Swing wedding clients. A scatting female jazz headliner vocalist sings with this band, depending on availability. The Band's pianist is a quality male vocalist in the Bobby Darin style. They are available throughout Northern California, Southern California and across the U.S.

One of California's most experienced 40s big bands, The DLE Northern California Big Band (a 14 to 16-piece) plays great 40s big band Swing as well as 50s big band Swing. A female vocalist is available upon request. The Band is available throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Monterey as well as in Southern California. They are currently doing a weekly tv show as the show's house band.
